Welcome to Sober Bugs Recovery's (SBR) Sanctuary. This is where you will find the resources, tools, and wisdom you seek to guide you on your daily journey to sobriety. Below is your Daily Spiritual Reading & Meditation. The biggest advice given during recovery is to have an open mind. Read the daily updates, embrace the positivity, and meditate on your reflection. At SBR we do not have a denomination or preference of religion or recovery programs, we simply provide positive pieces from each.

-------ENLIGHTENMENT-------
Then I sought solitude, and here I soon became very melancholy. I would sometimes fall to weeping, and feel unhappy without knowing why. Then for no reason, all would suddenly be changed, and I felt a great, inexplicable joy, a joy so powerful that I could not restrain it, but had to break into song, a mighty song, with only room for the one word: joy, joy! And I had to use the full strength of my voice. And then in the midst of such a fit of mysterious and overwhelming
delight, I became a shaman. I could see and hear in a totally different way. I had gained my quameneq, my enlightenment, the shaman-light of brain and body, and this in such a manner that it was not only I who could see through the darkness of life, but the same light also shone out from me, imperceptible to human beings, but visible to all the spirits of earth and sky and sea, and these now came to me and became my helping spirits.

For now we see through a glass, darkly. But then face to face.

--------MEDITATION--------
If enlightenment can be described, it must be not as a state but as a process; not as light, but as a transformation to light.
Seen in this way, it is not only a select few high and holy personalities (you can fill in the blank with the one or ones you so revere) but all of us who are experiencing some form or degree of enlightening.
Did you understand today a passage in a book that previously was hidden from understanding?
Did you speak more gently to a child where in the past you may have shouted in anger?
Did you negotiate a new agreement with someone you had been darkly disputing?
That's enlightenment!
